NUTRITIONAL SUPPLEMENT PROGRAM HALTS PROGRESSION OF EARLY CORONARY ATHEROSCLEROSIS

According to the Journal of Applied Nutrition, people who are on a Nutritional Supplement Program have a decrease in Coronary Artery Disease.

They tested 55 people with documented CAD and found these results:

"The progression of coronary artery calcification decreased on average 15% over the course of one year of nutritional supplementation. In a subgroup of patients with early stages of coronary artery disease, a statistically significant decrease occurred, and no further progression of coronary calcification was observed. In individual cases, reversal and complete disappearance of previously existing coronary calcifications were documented."

Have an Active Summer

The weather is warm, the sun is shining, and outdoor activities are calling your name. Why not walk to a local park for a picnic or take your family out for an afternoon at a nearby playground or swimming pool? If summer is the time for a family vacation, consider making it an active one. On a vacation, you can look for opportunities to enjoy activities such as biking, hiking, swimming, and canoeing.

* Control weight
* Control high blood pressure
* Reduce risk for type 2 diabetes, heart attack, and colon cancer
* Reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety
* Reduce arthritis pain and disability
* Reduce risk for osteoporosis and falls

Update on Aspartame

Aspartame Update
Chester J. Zelasko, Ph.D. | June 27, 2006

Artificial sweeteners are probably the most criticized food additive on the internet after hydrogenated fat. Topping that list of artificial sweeteners is aspartame. As I wrote in 2001 [September 4th Newsletter], the safety of using aspartame was one of the most frequently asked questions we get at Better Life and it still is. Recently published research goes a long way to address some of the issues raised about this artificial sweetener. This Newsletter will review the latest research on aspartame.

  • 78% of American's not meeting basic activity level recommendations
